Unfortunately, there is nothing new in this article to any veteran official. In my experience, the younger the player, the worse the parents.

Ah, for the "good old days", when adults weren't involved in youth sports. When I grew up, there were no "organized" youth sports, such as Little League". We went to the local school yard, community center, or park, chose up sides and played all day, WITHOUT adult interference. The only time an adult would get involved, was when my Dad would pile a bunch of us in his 1936 Dodge and take us to the park to play 16" slow-pitch softball. He never would be on my team, and he was the only pitcher I couldn't hit.

As soon as parents get involved, their egos take over, and the youngster becomes secondary. When so-called adults attack a teen-aged umpire in a T-Ball game, you know there's a cancer out there. Of course, umpires in T-Ball games show the mentality of those running the program.
