Hey all. I would like some insite from the members on this board. I have been asked to become a Deputy UIC for my local ASA Association. What have been your experiences as deputies or even UIC's (I would like the good and bad).

It depends on your personal make-up and how much time you have available. But the most important thing is what the UIC envisions as to what your responsibilities are. I enjoy teaching and, to some degree, recruiting. But if you don't have an assignor, I'd make sure that the UIC isn't keeping the fun stuff and passing on assigning to you.

a Deputy UIC ???
Wouldn't that have been nice.
I was UIC for our local ASA years ago
--as an educator I enjoyed the training
sessions and rules work---but I also
had to do the assigning--
and that was a hassle and my main reason
for quitting the job after two years.
Go for it--no one says it is a life sentence !
