Okay with all the hoopla around this issue I am confused, again.

Say batter swings and F2 drops ball- I say nothing , give 3K mechanic. TRUE

Say batter doesn't swing and F2 drops ball= Vocally Strike 3, then mechanic TRUE

Say it is a close one but I see F2 has caught the ball , should I then say something like Batter is out ?????

Help is needed and appreciated.....

I'll always say "Stike Three!!" then nothing else if the ball is dropped. If the ball is caught, I'll say as soon as I'm sure it is a catch "Batter is out!!!"

Remember, caught or not, it is still strike three. That doesn't change. However, if the BR is entitled to advance, s/he is only out if the ball is caught in flight. If the ball is not caught, the BR must be retired.
