Beaumont, Tx., will host the 10U thru 16U "B" Nationals the week of July
23rd through July 29th. On July 30th the 18U "A" Nationals will kick off. Two long weeks of FP Softball. Lucky for us (Beaumont) we have two 12 field complexes plus several HS Fields very close by. Now the problem will probably be getting umpires. Going to be interesting, I do believe. |
change of thread but personal interest .
From New Zealand . Beaumont is my surname . Have you any details on the history and settling of Beaumont ( the city ) Would love to visit there some day |
debeau:
Start drinking water now. Beaumont is hot and muggy. The people are nice, and they work pretty hard to take care of the umpires. It is a physical challenge to umpire in that weather. I have a concern that U10's & 12's from other areas will not handle the environment well. Beaumont is about Oil. I suppose a local could give you a much better history than me. I am a yankee (from the north) |
Quote:
A yankee is one from the north who visits. A damn yankee is one who stays. Sorry, Rachel. |
However, as I understand it, Rachel lived in Texas, so she is a Texan, and one
hell of a good umpire. |
debeau - not a local, have never even been to Beaumont, but here is a link to the website of the city to get you started:
http://www.google.com/url?sa=U&start...nt.com/&e=9797 Glen - I usually go to Park City, UT for the Triple Crown "World" Series at that time of the year, but not next year. Maybe Beaumont would be an option..... |
We would love to have you Andy....If serious, I can get things rolling through
the UIC.... |
You would be under the direction of this gentleman.
Contact him and do one qualified and register..... [email protected] Region 9 |
Thanks, Glen....
I will drop Mr. Hosey an email. I have not heard of any AFA softball in Arizona, which is puzzling since the association is based in California. It's worth an email to at least get more information! |
