Question

What type of rule is in place regarding the taping of bats for ASA play? I was told that I can not have tape creating a taper at the knob of the bat. The knob itself is not completely covered and you can still see the manufacturer, weight etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You cannot have more than 2 layers of tape on the bat handle. Nobody cares about seeing the knob, for that matter, you can cover it with tape. The rule is a safety issue. You cannot create a flare or coned handle. There must be a 90 degree angle where the handle meets the knob.

This is nothing new. Same rule has been around for years.
