...and, according to the website, it's played using NFHS rules (with a handful of local modifications).

Wonder which sanctioning body approves the umpires?

I have heard of it being tossed around for a couple of years. I think it was first in Orlando at the National Council meeting.

Please note that the rules are that of the Grand Slam Tournament, not ASA.

ASA is merely offering the advantages of registration to the teams (insurance, etc.) so far. I'm sure this will eventually move forward to include more options.

Just for the heck of it...
 
I thought I might mention that apparently NSA is doing something similar. I really haven't paid much attention to it, but on the local NSA website it does talk about their baseball program (I think it is BPA or something like that).
