Welcome to the board.

Depends on the situation.

It would be helpful if you were a bit more specific by refering to the sanctioning body under which you are playing and a certain scenario.

Isn't it usually an out in most cases?

No, unless by "most cases" you mean "most appeals made by an informed defensive coach." But there are actually more situations in the rule book where the at bat stands or is corrected with no penalty than cases where there is an out due to BOO.

Ok so the Little league 9-10 Allstar team was playing another tema who was batting out of order our manager caught it and we were told that we didnt get an out because she said that once the picher pitched that that became the offical line up. than they let her bat again.
They had know idea what there line up was supposed to be and they stopped the game for a half hour teying to figure it out. We want to protest the game but want to make sure that she should have beeen out, and all the girls that cont to bat out of order should have been out.

Don't know about LL, but in many sets of rules:

Your scenario, and grammar (j/k), are a bit sketchy, but that is not the way BOO works. You must catch it after the wrong batter completes their turn at bat and before a pitch to the next batter. And you can only get one out if you do that.

It is not a protestable issue unless the protest is lodged during the play in question.

"what should happen when you bat out of order?"

If I batted out-of-order, I would apologize to my teammates for forgetting who I followed.

You probably would because of you age, and teammates would think nothing of it. (J/k'ng)
