Play happened in H.S. Regional. Runners on 2nd-3rd. Batter pops up to infield, fielder thinks that their are three outs and rolls ball to to circle, players head to dugouts, coaches tell runners to go back to their bases, defence picks up ball throws over 3rd basemans head ,runner tags and scores. Runner on 2nd is tagged uot going back to 2nd.Would the run score or is this a continuation play.

need more information? How many outs at the start of the play? If two, did the run score before the third out was made at second? |
Sorry about that, should have said did the runner from third score before or after the third out at second, if it was the third out.
If before it counts, it not no run. |
Their was one out when the infielder made the catch.

Thanks for the information. So with the catch you have two out. Since there is no force play, if the runner from third scores before the out at second happens it counts, if not no run. This is referred to as a timing play. Have fun out there. Rabbit |
