Batter ate a foul ball tonight. the 2nd time its happened when i'm behind the plate but the first time this year. Probably stitches I would guess... maybe a dentist trip.

I'm not a big fan of the face masks but I'm not a big fan of watching ball players bust their face either in either.

Wont bother me next when its a rule to have them I dont think.

I havent been a big fan of masks either in SP, but Im begining to sway.
Yesterday during a 13-15 practice a BR, young lady, got hit in the temple by a thrown ball while she was going to first and was out cold. Had to be air-lifted out and it does not look good. Shakes a neighborhood, and the whole softball community.
Prayers needed. Sorry for the hi-jack.

I never saw a face mask until about four years ago. I've bought two in the past week, and am shopping for a third. Two of my girls used their's for the first time today, and it didn't seem to affect their hitting. I know what you mean about the foul ball in the mouth; I had the misfortune of seeing that happen. I hadn't thought about the masks in terms of base-running safety..figured the helmet protected the sides of the head well enough, but I guess you never know...

My prayer went out for the little girl with the head injury.

Andrea, the young lady hit, is stable but her brain did swell and start bleeding. The doctors are very optimistic that she will fine, but it will take some time to heal. Thx for the prayers.
