Since I only umpire Dixie softball, I was wondering how other associations handle a pitcher's actions while standing on the pitcher's plate. With both feet on the pitcher's plate and getting a sign from the catcher the pitcher adjusts the ball in her glove. Same situation, pitcher lifts the ball from her glove to pour sand out of her glove. Same situation, the pitcher alternates the ball from her glove to her hand until she gets the signal then brings the ball to a stop in her glove for one second or more then starts her windup. Would any of these situations be considered an illegal pitch?
