Men are allowed to:

Leap
Keep contact with PP with just the pivot foot
Take a backward step

Here in New Zealand
The difference is we , unfairly ,concentrate more tightly on the pitching regulations.
Yeah men leap , dont have to heel toe ,can take a small step forward or back .
Hey Whiskers you obviously havnt seen some women players in NZ.
You described some of them like a photo

In the Netherlands:
Men also do pitch illegal
Men also talk dirty, especcially WITH the ump's. (It's a friendly game you know)
Men also are faster throwing, running and batting.

Women complain behind your back, look infriendly to you (when you made a mistake in their eyes) and use about 2h for one game.
Still I love to work the women's games best and watch the men games (with a beer in my hand)...

Men's pitching rule is a little relaxed

I was instructed in a men's state tournament that we would see no illegal pitches. I asked if we were to call any illegal pitches? UIC said, "you WILL see no illegal pitches."

Enough said.

I do a couple women's tournaments each year, and have no problems with complaining at all.

The upper level men's game has no problems either.

Now, lower levels are a different story...
