Just going to be starting in two weeks. Are ASA rules and high school rules the same ? There seem to be lots of clinics for ASA certification and i waswondering if its worth my time ? Thanks for any info.

Depends on the state. There are one or two states where the high schools use ASA rules. For most of the rest of us, though, high schools use NFHS rules.

ASA and NFHS are similar but not the same. Each has it's own rule book, case book, and umpire manual.

In my opinion, you would be well advised to attend (and register) both ASA and NFHS clinics. The GHSA (Georgia HS) clinics are done in conjunction with ASA anyway. I doubt there are any "Fed only" umpires in GA.

Attendance at the GHSA/ASA clinics in GA is mandatory if you wish to recieve any post season work.

I try and attend all I can and have never been disappointed.
