I found this old post and had a question. Is there an acceptable level of trash talk or have we become so PC as to not allow any of it.

Heck, my kids do it all the time. My ten year old son is very good at the "burn". If you've got thin skin don't sit down at our table.

If a batter bites on the change up and the catcher makes some comment like "Nice swing" (obvious sarcasm). Do you admonish the catcher or do you give the batter your hankie and tell her to dry her tears?

I guess what I'm really asking is where do you draw your line in the sand?

BTW, I thought the singing of "Old MacDonald" was witty.

No talking to or about the opposition. Innuendo and double entendres will be handled by my judgment and my judgment alone.

Trash Talk? No way.

"Hit it to me!" Probably okay.

"You suck" Bye-bye.

Blatant attempts to distract a player? Nope.

I've noticed that the catchers that have to "talk to the batters" are probably the ones catching a pitcher that doesn't know how to throw a strike.
