batter hits a line shot to left field, she runs past first, past second heading to third. The left field throw it to the cut off (shortstop)then is then is thrown to the 3rd baseman, as the batter is sliding into third she is tagged out. The batter in no way slows down around the bases nor is there a play at second to get her out. How would you score this play? Is the batter creditied with a hit or is she just out?

I'm assuming that the runner has tagged both first and second bases before being thrown out at third. If so, the batter is credited with having hit a two-base hit (double), and is out on the play, 7-6-5.

If the batter in this case missed first base, and the defense appeals that she missed first base, then she does not get a hit and is simply put out, 7-6-5.

By the way, I also believe that in the case where runners overslide bases on extra base hits or stolen bases, and are then tagged out on the same oversliding of the base, that the runner does not get credit for the stolen base or double (if runner overslid second base), as the runner needs to hold the base without being tagged out in order to earn credit for the SB or 2B.

Umpire doesn't care, one of the 42 occured at 3B.http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/...nym/dollar.gif

Someone may come along with an answer, but your question will probably be better served if posted on the Fastpitch board of http://www.eteamz.com.

The batter/runner is credited with all the bases she touched before being put out. In the above, she gets a double.

If the runner overslides a base, and is tagged out, she does not get credit for that base. If she overruns and is tagged out, give credit for that base.
