Question:

How may games does a player have to play to be eligible for play off's. We have a player that played one game (first game), did not show for any other games and then shows up for the play off's. This player is outstanding, it is almost like let get her to play a game and then bring her back at the end of the year (she played less then 10 percent of the games).

This is an umpire's board. Some may know the answer
and if so will probably come along and give you your
answer.

We do not even know what association you are referring to.
AFA, ASA, NFSA, NSA, USSSA, LL, NCAA, PONY, or DIXIE.

Contact the president of your league. They should have an
answer for you.

No applications of this sort in ASA ball. This is probably a local league rule.

akita,

Little league is the only organization that I know of that requires a minimum participation and their mimimum is that any All-Stars candidates must have participated in at least 1/2 of the regular season games.

From the 2004 Dixie Girls Tournament Rules:
(B) — Only players who have played in a minimum of nine (9) of their local league games shall be eligible for tournament competition, with the exception that the state director shall be empowered to rule a player eligible, for good reason, even though the player has not played in the nine (9) games.............
