Last year I bought some T-shirts from ASA that say "ASA Umpire" on them (2 whites and 2 blues). Planned on wearing them under the uniform, but honestly they were too good (heavy) for summer and I relegated them to the dresser and kept using regular, thinner T's. I sometimes think about wearing the ASA shirts out around town but wonder if they are "official". In other words I'd never wear the powder blue to a cookout but could I wear the T (provided I did'nt drink too much of course)? Opinions?

Sure.
Wear 'em. Good advertsing. mick |

The shirts you are referring to were made available so umpires who wore them would have an undergarment they could wear between games as well as while they were working. I think they do a good job. The only problem I have experienced is that the sleeves are a big long and you occasionally have to tuck them under the outer shirt. |
