Here is what happened.Bases loaded w/no outs.Ground ball to third. Third baseman gets the ball tags the runner (who is still on the base)Touches the base ( to get the runner going to third)and throws to first to get the batter.
Is this a triple play ?

Yeah, why would you think otherwise? You're lucky he didn't get four just to show off

The question was about the tag out at third. R3 was forced to vacate the base by R2, therefore R3 can be tagged out even if he is in contact with third base.

If he would had stepped on the bag, made the tag, then threw to first you would have 2 outs. Maybe thats what you were conjuring up ?
