Also, as they teach in SP on the height issue, instead of using 6 to 12 feet, use 7 to 11 and allow for a margin of error. BTW, I do not believe they will ever change the strike zone definition. Does anyone remember being taught that the "natural" batting stance was to be thought of as when the batter is striding during their swing, not just standing by the plate? Now that would really compact the zone. Just thoughts.
