What?!?! You guys in Texas have lakes with first AND last names? Hell, around here we just have things like puddles, cricks and ditches.

Mike,

I have Lake Sam Rayburn, and Lake Dam(n) B....Dam(n) A
never got off the drawing board. And no, Tyler is not in
my area, though I have called there and others towns in
that direction.

Most of Texas Big Bass come from the Lake Fork that Rick
mentioned. Rayburn has their share, but if you reallllly
like catching lunkers, go to Lake Fork. Hell, they have
to be 24 inches long before you can keep them, and you
can always catch a limit (5)....May be three on that Lake.

I would point out, however, that there are no natural lakes in Texas. They are all man-made.

Here in MN they say we have 10,000 (actually it is more like 15,000), but then they do have some pretty small "lakes" in that count.

But ain't that 'cause most of the dams have leaks in em, causing more lakes below 'em?

Awww, don't get me started on La. guys. I've called 1 Zone and 3 PONY Nationals down there. Got scheduled with 1 La. umpire and 1 South Texas umpire each year. On a slow week, email me and I'll regal you with all the boneheaded plays called by the La guys. But in all fairness, they consistently called "Ball Game!" quite well with no flaws in the mechanics or rule interpretations. http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk...e/icon_lol.gif

Caddo Lake, on the Texas-Louisiana state line near Marshall, was the only natural lake in the state, but it was dammed for flood control in the early 1900s.
