I am probably the last to know, but in case I am not,
The 04 Case Book and the Umpires Clinic Guide are
now available. Mine is arriving this morning,
or so I was told.

You are the second to the last to know. Thanks for the info. I have called three times to see when the case book would become available. Haven't called in a couple of weeks though. Have to get mine on order today.

Skahtboi Wed Mar 31, 2004 10:18am

No Duke. It appears that you are second to the last to know. I, too, thank you for the info Glen!

No, I guess I'm the last to know!!! Thanks for the update.

Thank ya'all! E-mailed my wife to get on the horn and order me one. It's on the way. She was puzzled why it isn't on the website. I told her long story and will explain. (LIKE I WILL EVER EXPLAIN THAT!!!)

F.Y.I.

I was informed yesterday that Merle stated that this is a 2-year case book.

I do not know if that means they will add a few updates on their page next year to accommodate any changes.

Just thought I would let everyone know what I was told so you all don't go breaking the spines too early :)

Thanks Mike,

If this Case Book wears like the Rules Book, then it will
in all probability not hold up for two years.

BTW - what happened to the three ring notebook type Case Book?
I thought when you purchased it, they just sent the changes.
I cannot remember, but I thought that is what I asked for when I
ordered. But then I have that C.R.S. syndome. :D

That was the idea, but when they would add or delete plays, it would cause a resequence of play and page numbers which means they would have had to change every page affected.

They were looking for a way to make the maintenance of the case book simpler and it just didn't work.

I don't really care about maintenance of the case book, but I really, really liked the loose leaf case book. Much easier to use; much easier to find things in; didn't fall apart, etc.

I am begging ASA to restore the loose leaf option. I don't care if they have to replace every page every year. Charge what it is worth, but restore the option.

I take all of my rule books & case books over to the local Staples. They cut the spine off, punch holes in every page, and put a wire binding in. It's not expensive and the books wear a lot better.

Staples What's that. Y"ll gotta remember I am in
East Texas, town of 2043. Just kidding, know what Staples
is, however, the nearest location is over 100 miles from me
sooo, it would probably mean taking it one day and having
drvie back another to get it. I'll just be careful with it.

Go to your corner station, have ol' Bubba drill holes through all the books, and and bind 'em together with a couple a U-bolts. http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung...lie/cowboy.gif

ROFLMAO, Glen. I'm in a county of about 12000 - and over 500 of them are doc's. But the next town over is a college town, so they've got all kinds of stores there.

And, isn't 100 miles about 45 minutes worth of driving time in Texas?

Got my copy a couple of weeks ago. It was nice entertaining reading while I was laid up in the hospital. I noticed this thread mentioning that it was supposed to be a 2-year book, however the cover states it is the '04 Case book. I'm assuming from that we'll be going through a case book every year? Anyone know more about this?

Bluefoot Mon Apr 19, 2004 12:45pm

What's a case book? (Doh!)

Seriously, though: Where can I purchase one and how much are they? (My local boards don't provide this info.)

My full-tiime job is in Graphic & Web Design and Page Layout. Regarding the 2004 ASA Rules Book, I've been asked by Merle Bulter to provide him with a list of typos and all errors that exist in this year's book. If anyone has any they want to send me, I'll include them in my list, so hopefully, next year's book will be even better.

Thanks,
Sean
