Don, Scott, Gary, Texblue, and rest of the Texans on
the board. Long range forecast looking good. 70's
on Thurs., with most of the rest of the week 60's.
Slight change of rain on Friday PM. That is of course,
assuming they know what they (forecasters) are doing and
we all know what assuming does. http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung...lmer_muede.gif

I hope so

Dont put much faith in them forecaster though. This past week on Tue they were saying Sat was goin to be sunny and 60%. It turn out in the 30s with 3" of snow on the ground.

Dont know if it will be dry enough by Tue to play but if dont get anymore rain we shall be able to get the tournaments for high school ball in this weekend.

I just want to get back on the field again been going through classes since 1st week in Jan. Though did get 3 games in last month before GARY caused us to get rain-out

Have a good one

Don

Yeah, the scrimmages we had schedule were snowed out. Something about " ... couldn't see the runners if they slid." Anyway, hopefully the rest of the week is warmer and drier. I am so ready for ball to start. The weekly meetings just aren't cutting it.

Good Luck to every one this season, let's have some fun!

Not much of a chance for me to call any games next week. It is -1 degrees with a wind chill of -25 degrees. Welcome to teh great northeast.....

The way the weather forecasters have been lately in terms of accuracy for long term predictions, I think that I will just take a wait and see approach.

TexBlue Sun Feb 15, 2004 02:42pm

The best long term forecaster I've found is The Farmer's Almanac.

Snow???? You guys in Texas know what that is?????? I didn't think people in Texas ever saw snow!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to my world.

Skahtboi Sun Feb 15, 2004 10:55pm

Yeah Bob, we ocassionally catch a glimpse of the white stuff here. Of course, the difference being that yesterday some parts of North Texas got as much as 8" of the white stuff, and here, 24 hours later there is hardly a trace of it left. By tomorrow it will be a distant memory.

I wish it was 70. We have been below freezing for 30 days just west of Chicago. There is about 8" of snow on the ground and first games are about 5 weeks away. First we have to melt the snow then dry out the fields. It is not unusual to have games snowed out all the way through early May. The last day of freezing temperatures normally falls around mid May. My son's birthay is May 5th. I remeber some cookouts were it was sunny and in the 70s and othertime flipping burgers in a snowstorm.

Hope we have an early spring. Just had our rules clinic and intepriation yesterday and can't to start calling a game!
