leaping?

Rule change for USA Softball:

Rule 6A, Section 3K: (Women's and JO Girls) Pushing off and dragging the pivot foot in contact with the ground or having both feet in the air is allowed.
Comment: Allows for Women and Junior Olympic Girls Classification of Play to have both feet in the air at the same time but must still stay within the 24” pitching plate.

Does this mean than a leap is now allowed in USA Softball for women/girls?

Any coordination with NCAA and/or NFHS?

The "leaping" rule is antiquated. It has been allowed in the men's game for years.

It will be interesting to see if the other organizations you name do follow suit.

NCAA had a representative at the USA Softball meeting where this rule was changes. I was told that she said that she hopes the NCAA will also adopt this rule change.
