Plus don't you see what the replacement was wearing? A hockey-style mask, I feel it too is much safer?

A PU handed me his mask a few days ago while he was explaining something to a young player. I remember thinking there's no way I'd stand back there with just this on my head. The full helmets are very nice with no visual impairments nowadays. I would want my full head protected. But, as for this particular one, I don't think a full helmet would have prevented the concussion either.

They have their own issues. I am aware of umpires, mostly baseball including a friend who have had whiplash issues with the helmet. The instructions on fitting an HSM is to keep them snug. While there is no doubt they help prevent some concussions and an abundance of info, I can find little data on other effects to the head and neck
