Gear earned it's keep today - in one inning!

Had an interesting B3 at my JV game today:

1. Batter fouls one right off of my right leg guard - no big deal, happens all the time.

2. couple of pitches later, hits one directly back off my right shoulder.

3. Next batter (?) hits one directly back and lower - nailing me in my upper right chest. Still not too bad, but its hurtin a little. Then...

4. It was the next batter - straight back, almost dead center of my chest THAT one I had to take few minutes...

Only worse one was when I got it right in the diaphragm, and it knocked the wind out of me.

So right now, I am SORE...

So yeah, it could be worse, but my gear - especially my Pro Nine chest protector - still works.

And oh yeah, I had to endure a 2 1/2 hour game where both pitchers could throw two strikes in a row...isn't this fun folks?

Well, considering that I'm working two plates tonight for a 16U local rec league, I don't want to comment for fear of jinxing myself!

If there are 2 plates, does that mean it is co-rec?

Only if I'm doing them simultaneously! No, it's back-to-back games, if you can call them games...

I've worked 10 games behind the dish so far and haven't been hit that many times combined.
