ejected in softball?

Altherr's throw nabs Espinosa | MLB.com

Watch especially the second angle, apparently the umpire's view.

Watched it about six times. Definitely a crash violation. The key factors I look for to judge MC are (1) runner staying on his feet; (2) elbows up and/or out before contact; (3) arm extension to deliver force to the opponent; (4) deviation of path into or away from fielder, or, "initiating the contact". On the field, we don't get the luxury of a pause button, but everything I need to see happens at 0:07 and at 0:19.

NFHS: Dead ball out and ejected.
ASA JO: Dead ball out and ejected.
NCAA: Dead ball out. PROBABLY ejected. (12.8.10 Note)
Men's FP: Dead ball out. Maybe ejected, maybe not. I'm going to take my time on this one. Depends on the flavor of the game. If there is animosity between the teams, and/or I think there was intent to injure, he's done. If it's two teams playing hard because they think they are major-leaguers instead of beer-leaguers, and everyone stands up with smiles, maybe he gets to keep playing. In any case, if I don't eject the runner, definitely a warning to both teams.

Doesn't need to be parsed, the answer is always going to be yes.

BTW, I find this play to be the hypocrisy of MLB.

They claimed to be worried about and were allegedly determined to put an end to these dangerous collisions. So, do they outlaw these types of plays and fine the runner for intentionally plowing into a catcher instead of attempting to touch the plate?

Oh, hell no! They instructed the umpires to enforce an obstruction rule even in cases where obstruction didn't really exist.

Do we need to call someone to come over and help pick you up off the floor? :)

Fortunately, I was a work where they have emergency response teams with defibrillators! :)
