Behind the back bunt.
I saw this video on the Huffington Post:
This Behind-The-Back Bunt Almost Doesn't Make Sense At First What say you? MTD, Sr. |
It is a swing and a bunt. You only get one attempt to strike the ball on each pitch. Strike on the batter.
|
A swing is an attempt to strike the ball. That motion starts before the ball has even left the pitchers hand and is not an attempt to strike at the ball the first time around.
Had a girl doing it at 18A ASA nationals a few years back. Was observed by the UIC who confirmed it is completely legal. |
A view of another batter doing it with the pitcher visible.

I would agree on your 2 videos, but can not see the pitcher on the first video.
|
Any pitcher throwing more than 40-45 mph that motion would have to start before the ball ever left the pitchers hand. There is no way a batter can do all that after the ball has been released and still make contact.
|
This is completely legal. It is nothing more than an attempt to hit the pitch. And, no, it is not two swings.
Got enough strange BS on other sites about this. It is nothing new, been around for more than a decade. It was legal then, too :) |
