NFHS- batter runs into dugout on strike 2

2-1 count, batter swings and misses then runs into dugout thinking it was strike 3. PU did not call or signal her out, even the scoreboard had the correct count. (I realize that is not relevant)

Should the batter be declared out for entering dead ball territory?

No. Find anywhere a rule that says the batter is out for entering DBT. It doesn't exist. That rule applies to runners and BRs.

Hmmmm.....what if she didn't like the bat she was swinging and wanted to go into the dugout to get a new one?
