The rules state that a player should be cautioned when they object by word of mouth or action to any decision given by an official.

There are a wide variety of reactions shown by players to an officials calls.

Where should we draw the line?

This is pretty open-ended. Depends a lot on the level of play, age of players, rec vs. travel vs. high school.

Some things to consider:
1. Did the player complain to himself, or loud enough for people on both sides of the field to hear?
2. Was this their first comment? Or one of many?
3. Was it an outburst? Or did the player continue to complain?
