just one point out of that whole mess: a wrestler is not allowed to grasp clothing at all: either his (or her) opponent's or his (or her) own, ANY instance of grasping a singlet for leverage or...

in the NFHS case book, this type of situation IS covered:
page 33, 6.4.2 situation A: "Wrestler A has Wrestler B in a false cradle and is content in sitting there and holding B in the false cradle...

Tony is absolutely correct in this case, leaving the mat OR forcing your opponent off of the mat as a means of avoiding wrestling IS a technical violation. Many people (myself included) can have...
