Because the only definite knowledge I have is that it takes 3/10ths of a second to catch the ball. Any more or less I would be guessing as the clock was not correct anyway.

I would say yes to that as this is not a legal guarding position. If they are flopping by rule that is a technical foul. Have not seen that called as we teach to call it a block on the defense.

Interference is a call that can be made by either umpire. As you stated (it clearly was interference) therefore you could have killed the play and ruled the interference and helped your partner.
