New to Lacrosse

I have a friend who is suggesting I do Lacrosse.

I know when I referee basketball I walk, run, jog about 3 miles per hour. I would imagine Lacrosse is more intense. Does anyone know how much more you move in Lacrosse? How much better shape I need to be in to do a good job and to prepare myself for the physical activity?

Thanks in advance

I work women's lacrosse and know I run a lot more than I do in basketball. If a team is running a set offense once you get into position the movements are similar. The fun part is when the draw happens and you then need to sprint 50-60 yards to your end while the players make 2 30 yard passes to move the ball to the goal. It can be a lot of catch up. You can easily cover 6-8 miles in a game.
