Illegal Stick Detected at Equipment Check Between Periods

I'm a newbie to lacrosse, and when a situation comes up, I like to search it out in the book to learn and review.

Sure would like a rule reference so I can look this one up, really haven't been able to find the specific case, but then I could be missing something.

Situation:
1st period ends with ball loose, no possession, ball on the ground. Teams are even-up nobody in penalty box. Upon an equipment check, it is found that Blue #7 has an illegally deep pocket on his crosse. So there is an illegal equipment personal foul; 1-min non-releasable. Blue #7 will head to penalty box at start of 2nd period, so 2nd period will start Blue 1-man-down, on the dead ball foul occurring between periods, 2nd period starts with White ball offensive side of center X.

This gets treated as any other start of period when a team is a man-down.

I just can't find the reference in the 2011 NFHS Boys Lacrosse Rules Book.

I'd appreciate the help.
