2010 US Lacrosse Convention Information—Register Now!

[Most of the lacrosse officiating discussions happen over at Lacrosse Rules And Officiating - The Lacrosse Forums but I thought I'd post this here in case people aren't checking there as well.]

In case you missed the announcement from US Lacrosse:

This year’s MDOC speaker line-up will also feature the inaugural Legends of the Game Speaker Series. This not-to-be-missed event will feature four living legends of the officiating world – Roy Condon, Jake Curran, Bob Sandell, and Bob Schwalb – who will share insights into officiating secrets not found in the rulebook or the mechanics manual and gained through long and decorated careers on the field. They will talk about the major moments in officiating like the Air Gait, the Armadillo Game, the day Army’s goal moved but the goal line didn’t, and much, much more.

The $75 early bird registration ends on November 15, so take advantage of this great deal and buy your tickets today. And remember, the first 500 registrants will automatically be entered into a drawing to win one of five FREE two-night stays at one of our downtown Baltimore hotels within walking distance of the Convention.

Free Access: Convention registration will include a one year, all-access pass to the Convention Online Library. This includes unlimited access to all convention handouts and audio presentations.
In addition to the Legends Series, there will be the largest lineup of talks for men's officials ever, including:

Quote:
Gary Alabaster — Effective Communication for Officals
Donald Balch — Off-ball Officiating
Al Blau — Simultaneous and Multiple Fouls
Jeff Bruso — Unofficial Officiating Strategies
Harold Buck — Game Management
Jim Carboneau — Professionalism
Chuck Cohen — TBD
Matthew Davis — Charting your officiating career
Matt Dempsey — Annual training for returning officials
Bob Duggan — So You Want To Be The Referee?
Paul Espinosa — Breaking In the New Official
Eric Evans — Small Officiating Changes for Big Improvement
Thomas Fitzsimmons — Keys to calling personal fouls
Hank Friedman — Officiating crease play
Alan Goldberger — Legal Issues in Lacrosse Officiating
Steven Hinchey — Lacrosse Fundamentals Revisted
Bob Jackson — Officials Field Training Using Stations
Chris Larson — Be prepared for special situations
Buzz Lynn — Improving relations between Coaches and Officials
Henry Molloy — Expanded education and training of officials
Walt Munze — The NCAA Rules Change Process
Sonny Pieper — Keeping the Game Moving
Andre Sanders — Running an observers program
Wayne Sanford — Keys to calling technical fouls
Brad Scibak — Officiating the International Game
David Seidman — Three-man Mechanics
Michael Williamson — Got RULES? Maybe!
Other events include the NFHS Rules Interpretation meeting, the NCAA/COC clinic on Saturday morning, and the men's officials social on Saturday night.

Educational sessions start Friday, January 15, at 9:00 a.m. and continue through Saturday evening. There are no sessions on Sunday morning, so you can fly out early.

There will be a COC clinician's training program on Thursday, January 14, from 2:00-9:00 (with an hour break for dinner). If you wish to attend this training, you need to get approval from your district governor and need to be at the convention center by 2:00 p.m.

This is a fantastic educational opportunity for men's officials of all levels, and it's a lot of fun, too. I hope to see you there!
