Doesn't anybody work lacrosse?!?!

Jeez, the HS season is underway; the college season is 6 weeks old. Nobody bothers to come talk about it? That's a shame.

Actually a large number of officials have gathered over at TLF (The Lacrosse Forums)...specifically the officiating forum: http://www.lacrosseforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=86

In Kansas up until a couple of years ago everyone here thought Lacrosse was something that little old ladies did when they got together! :p

Sorry! I know that was bad!

"Doesn't anybody work lacrosse?!?!"

No.

Honestly, I don't think much of the game itself. I'll admit that may be out of ignorance, and I'd never put anyone down for liking it. It just doesn't appear to be THAT athletic of a sport, compared to football, basketball, baseball and even soccer.

Then I guess you haven't really watched too much of it.

Nah, lacrosse is way above soccer--At least there is some scoring every once in a while and you don't get a penalty for breathing on someone the wrong way.

You got dirt on his uniform? YELLOW CARD!

Wow. At the youth level, you may be right. At the high school level and above, it is very athletic and can be quite physical...sometimes moreso than hockey.

Yes!! Here in Maryland some lax officials work year round. As for myself I'm just starting my first year. Really looking forward to it.

I just bumped in here to see what was going on.
I'm from Cortland NY (Syracuse area) where LAX is huge.
They are beginning to play it down here in the Fort Myers
area. I'm guessing that a lot of the smaller athletic kids are
going to gravitate towards it; and the sport should grow here !
No--I'm a softball umpire in spring and too old for all the
running required for a LAX official.
Good luck to all of you !

You think, even just at a casual glance, that BASEBALL is more athletic than lacrosse? You must have been watching a game involving the aforementioned 90-year-old grannies...
