High School Ice Hockey

The Captain of team A was discussing a call/non-call after the second period of a game, when another player skates by to let me now that I "needed to make the correct call and to open my eyes" and I then issued him a 10 minute misconduct and he procedes to tell me to "F___ O__" and I issued a DQ for his actions and the coaches wanted to protest my actions.

The coach said "He will be out the next game if I DQ him" and I asked if that was the approperiate call for someone to use that type of language to an official? The coaches agreed to the call and players returning to the ice from team A appoligized for the teammates action.

My questions is where and what are these coaches thinking is above and beyond the limit?

Anyone else out their had to deal with this type of behavior?

Thanks for your help.

I think everything trickles down from higher leagues.

Do not take this the worng way, but when the skater came by and said to open your eyes....you could have replied "I'm talking to your captain. Head to the locker room." This may have prevented the 10 minute misconduct and the responding F you.
Once he said F you, the game DQ was the correct call.
