OT - Keep Portland Weird
 

Portland has a reputation for being weird. I could give you examples but you really have to be here a while to experience it. "Keep Portland Weird" is probably the most popular bumper sticker and there's a side of a large building with that painted on it. Not only that, but almost everyone here is proud of being thought of as weird - at least as compared to everyone else.

I just wanted to share this. Yesterday, my daughter Jennifer called me to say she saw a bumper sticker that was "typical of Portland". It said "SUPPORT BACTERIA. THAT'S THE ONLY CULTURE SOME PEOPLE HAVE".

Yep, that's Portland all right. :)

We had a new employee fly to the wrong Portland on his first training assignment.

Heh, nothing like a cross-country mistake to really sell your capabilities.

Austin has the same slogan. Walking down Sixth Street, they strike me was a wannabe Berkeley.

I prefer "Keep Boulder High."

Unless I'm mistaken isn't that building home to VooDoo Doughnuts?
