Tired of spam
 

Is this gonna end someday??

Our mods are pretty good about it. Obviously they can't be on stand by 24/7. However, they do their best to keep it off here. Lately, spam traffic has been very heavy. I'm sure it will go down - hang in there! :)

I hope that being tired of spam never ends. Is that what you meant?

What I can't figure out is how the accounts are getting past the Image Verification. With that, it seems the accounts are coming from real people actually taking time to sign up.

I am also sick of it. While I can learn to ignore the threads started, it's hard to ignore replies in threads.

It may also have something to do with the fact this board is about 25 updates and several versions behind. I run a V Bull board and the current version is 3.73. Looks like this board is sitting on ver 3.54

I'm gonna guess that many security flaws have been addressed since 3.54

Obviously a lot of spammers are posting porn...If we disable this ability for a poster to post images until they have X posts (I would suggest at least 50, perhaps 100), we wouldn't have a porn problem I would imagine

It's difficult to procrastinate at work if I'm in fear of porn showing up on my screen. The government doesn't approve of porn viewing at work, darn conservatives lol :rolleyes:

I appreciate the hard work the moderators do and they do a great job. But I do have to admit I am sick of the porn popping up in the forum. I wish there was a way to filter it out.

I bet the mods are too. :)

Perhaps the administrators are working on that this weekend.

As a regular here, and a forums admin myself (at a different URL), I would support all posts requiring a CAPTCHA phrase to be entered.

It would suck for usability, but I bet that all spam would be gone. In the forum that I administer, there is no spam whatsoever, and this is how we do it. Seriously.

Holy mother of pearl. :( 25 new threads over the last 2 days, just in the General forum. Plus some new threads, and at least one porn post within a real thread, in the basketball forum.

Uh, no..., that was since 10:46 a.m. yesterday. ;)
