Many of you folks are accustomed to hot weather and this year it seems it has been a little extra warm U.P. here, next to Lake Superior.

It seems a Flamingo has found it's way to a small lake [Au Train Lake] about 130 miles East of here.

Because the bird's feather color is directly affect by its diet. Our Yooper bird is white with only a touch of coral flamingo coloring on its wings.

Yeah, there ya go!
Course, though it's only 30+ miles from the nearest Long John Silver restaurant, it's probably 2,400 miles too far north.

My dad lives just outside Orlando and we visit a few times a year. The first thing I always marvel at when we arrive (other than the temperature) is the amazing variety of birds there. There's just a huge number of species and many, many that aren't found in New England, so it's like going to the zoo. A lot of fun.

My sister lives in one of Orlando's bedroom communities in Seminole County. There is a flock of about 25 blue herons that have the complete run of the streets in her subdivision. Sometimes you have to wait about couple of minutes before they decide to vacate the middle of the street.

A coach once told me that my officiating was for the birds.
