Know any more details? Does that mean they're allowed to score only 1 point if they snap from the 15, and only 2 points (barring a safety) if they snap from the 3? That cuts out the fake kick.

The NFL snaps from the 2. 2 point conversions would still be at the 2 yard line. And yes, 1 point for a kick from the 15.

Meaning 0 points for a kick after choosing an original spot between the 2 & the 15? Will they be allowed to revoke their decision after a penalty?

It would be more entertaining if they forced the kick to be done at whatever angle the TD was scored, the way they do with a try in rugby.

They made a 99 percent play into a 92 percent play. Cool...I guess

It'd be much more entertaining if they'd just give 7 for the original TD & kicked off. Shave some time off games by cutting out the least interesting & fluke-prone parts of it.

For the game time part...wouldnt it be better just to use the play clock? If the offensive team gets a delay penalty, they lose the PA attempt.

Until ~30 yrs. ago Canadian football counted the time of a try (convert) toward the period time, although a period was extended to complete one.

I don't see why it would be better for overall game time purposes to count the time of the try than it would to just skip it. The try just came from one of the ways to resume play after the ball became dead behind a goal line.

Also, keep in mind that the NCAA rule where conversions can be returned by the defense is now part of the NFL rulebook as well. This also means a one-point safety is more reasonably possible.
