This should be required viewing for all fans....

There is a third team out there and there is nothing wrong with discreetly acknowledging good teamwork.

The fans don't believe Pereira. Read the comments.

And we care about what the fans think because why?

In a fan's mind, the definition of 'good officiating' is when the call goes in favor of the fan's team.

I have in the past disagreed with mike p. But every clinic I've been to in the last 4 years has strongly discouraged the umpire's signal. So we've eliminated it. Does anyone else still have U give a signal? Is that still standard in nfl or is Mike out of the loop?

Now, 95% of the people observing a football game have no idea about the communication that goes on among officials, but this one has an obvious connotation. I give attaboys on the field, but only verbally. I would never high five my umpire for making a crew-saving chop block call on my tackle. I don't think it is a big deal, nor do I think it should be a downgrade, but I would discourage it on our crew.

We do not give a signal either and just about everyone around here discourages a signal from the U. We will communicate with the U, but not with a signal that everyone can see. What we do is say, "I have the ball here" and it is up to the wings to decide how they got there. And that is said by whether the ball is in the end zone and the ball is out of the end zone.

Peace

Surprised Pereria didn't drop the mic.

No Signals,

The only time i would do anything, is if it is to save the crew.

Like a last season, there was a endzone fumble, that the umpire had as a TD but didnt say anything and the play went all the way back to the others TD.
