In an on-campus intramural game tonight, a team committed an unsportstmanlike conduct penalty on a try after the touchdown after the ready for play whistle but before the snap. I don't have a copy of the rule book in front of me (away at college and no longer officiating because my TAship won't let me have another job and keep the tuition waiver, so I didn't bring my rule book from undergrad), but the closest thing I could find in an adaptation is on
http://dcalum.org/s/20/resources/Spo...ll%20Rules.pdf (claims to be adapted from NIRSA, which our campus uses), and I'm looking at rule 10 articles 7&8. It would seem that article 7 would not apply since the ready for play signal had already been blown, and article 8 would not apply since it was not during a successful try. Can anyone shed some light on this? I'd also appreciate other, non-flag rulings like NFHS for this situation as it'll help me grow as a ref, and I'm planning to get into HS/Jr. High next fall after I graduate here.
Edit: Team A scored TD, UC on Team B
Edit 2: Was handled on field by being enforced on ensuing "kickoff"/possession (Normally team B starts with ball on 14, so team A chose to have team B start on 7 instead of enforcing on the try).
