Referee #14, ... has retired.

IMO, he was the one guy that was the most consistent on the NFL. He wasn't flashy like Hochuli, well known like McAulay, etc. but I always knew how the game would be officiated when his crew was on the game.

I wish the league gave him the top nod at some point.

I always enjoyed Ron's demeanor on the field. I wish him well in his retirement.

Perhaps the true meaning of being successful as an official, is when others involved with the game, upon recognizing the officials assigned, sincerely felt relaxed and scure in knowing who was working the game, and confident that it would be handled well.

I got to speak with him briefly at Honig's clinic this weekend. Classy guy and still giving back to those looking to improve.
