Rich,we fully expect to run into the odd coach that has absolutely no respect for us as officials or human beings.We may not like him(or people like him),but we can maybe understand your friend,the convicted coach,a little bit.We do not expect, however, that one of our supposedly fellow officials would turn out to be exactly the same as he is though.
If you're looking for sympathy of forgiveness,I think that you have come to the wrong place. After all,Benedict Arnold is still looking- after about 225 years!
