2-point conversion and penalty on kickoff
 
High school playoff football game. Team A throws into endzone for the completed 2-point conversion. However, defense pass interference is also called. Nothing unsportsmanlike on play. Referee signals 2-point counts but then marches off 15-yard penalty on the ensuing kickoff. Seems extreme!

Might seem extreme, but your beef is with the rules committee.

Legal for several years. Rules committee taking away the "free shot" shot on scoring play where defender really had nothing to lose so why not risk it and foul.
