Define flagrant
I think it is a bit ridiculous that the NFHS does not define flagrant.
I know it is like pornography, you know it when you see it. What do you all consider flagrant? They do give some points to consider on IHC. 9-4-3i... Initiate illegal helmet contact, (butt block, face tackle or spear) NOTE: Illegal helmet contact may be considered a flagrant act. Acts to be considered flagrant include, but are not limited to: 1. Illegal helmet contact against an opponent lying on the ground, 2. Illegal helmet contact against an opponent being held up by other players, and/or 3. Illegal helmet-to-helmet contact against a defenseless opponent. |
2-16-2
c. Flagrant - a foul so severe or extreme that it places an opponent in danger of serious injury, and/or involves violations that are extremely or persistently vulgar or abusive conduct. |
OK, I was wrong it is defined. Thank you.

I meant did a search on this site.
Plus the word flagrant is in the fouls. I did not search on my kindle but I should have, I get it. |
I'm not real impressed with the search function on The Arbiter's online NFHS publications. Sometime it can't find a phrase I know good and well is in the rule book. Other times it will pull up rule cites that have nothing to do with what is being searched.
I haven't tried the Kindle/e-book version as frankly I've paid enough in NFHS membership and booking fees this year that I don't feel like shelling out anything extra. Just busting your chops, Johnboy:p |
