Good News
Iowa just joined the rest of the officiating world and has authorized the use of the black pants for any and all games, and will make a mandatory switch in 2016.:
|
Dang- we had arranged an overflight of C-17's to air drop over Iowa all of the knickers we can't get rid of.
Abort-abort-abort;) |
Darn, I was going to donate mine to the cause. Maybe Iowa can get that goofy logo off the hats now.

You'll never want to wear knickers again. |
Knickers are dead (thank God). Even those old school guys that swore they'd never switch -- or be dragged kicking and screaming -- end up liking the pants after no more than 2 wearings. I have never heard anyone complain after actually wearing the pants.

My only hope is the one convert was our crew chief- he also works D3 ball and has spent more time with the black pants. And ours is a crew where its usually a democracy of one, if you know what I mean! |
Were they wearing the lightweight pants? At least in the early part of the season?
|
I believe it was in 2009 that those pants came out and . In 2011 I believe they made them optional for all games no matter the weather, my crew has never looked back. I do not even know where my knickers are at this point.
Peace |
Mine are at (or were at) Goodwill. Socks went into the trash.
|
I haven't worn knickers in at least 3 years. And never will again.
|
Viva La Knickers!

We wore pants for our game this past Sunday and the slight breeze blowing actually helped keep things cooler with the looser pants. I couldn't imagine doing that game, on turf, in knickers. |
