Suspension possible for Bama player for hit on Georgia QB Aaron Murray

Suspension possible for Bama player for hit on Georgia QB Aaron Murray | UGA sports blog

While watching this game, the color commentators--the rules experts we of course know them to be  --mentioned this possibility.

My question, for those of you that may know the SEC governing rules, is whether such suspensions have been given to others? I know earlier this season WSU's Deone Buchannon was suspended for a hit, but that was by the Pac-12. Does the NCAA mandate such suspensions, or is this a only at the conference level?

What I find amazing is that there is an official standing right there, but no flag.

View the video in the format:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CODE where CODE is the (usually) 11-character code.

So for this video, it is Quinton Dial hit on Aaron Murray - SEC Championship - YouTube.

In that screen, click Share and then Embed. Copy that code into a message.

Initially I did that. I got something like
HTML Code:

<iframe>...</iframe>
. But that just made a blank space. But below the embed html there is a checkbox for "use old code" or something like that. Checking that, and using the resultant code, worked correctly.

That is a conference issue. The NCAA doesn't really have an enforcer for on field issues.
