And technically the jersey is illegal (1-5-1c1). The numbers used aren't Arabic.

Sure they're Arabic numerals. The alternatives are Roman, Egyptian, Etruscan, Chinese etc.

I hope they're illegal, but if so this is not the reason.

I like the helmets. The pants, OTOH, look more like something John Daly would wear.

Meh... what???

What language do you think they are? (Arabic is not a font).

For the record, I like the middle uniform a lot.

Funny how any professional or college sports team in these parts is under increasing pressure year in and year out to rid of the Native American names, logos, and mascots due it being "insensitive and demeaning to Native Americans"....and yet you see this. It went away for the Washington Redskins after years of hassles, not here.

Here in WI, Marquette University got pressured to change from Warriors to Golden Eagles years back and lose the Indian head and headdress image that Al McGuire's national champ team made popular. The town just north of me has been getting hammered over recent years and faces legal action from the State if they don't switch their high school name from the Kewaskum Indians to something less "insensitive." Last I heard it was stuck in a court battle. That stuff is going on everywhere up here.

Is this stuff not happening down in the South?

One of the things I do in the pregame broadcast is describe the uniforms of each team. I have no idea how I would do that in the allotted 30 minutes before kickoff, with a straight face.

No. We had the good sense to name our teams mostly after indigenous animals who don't have a "sensitivity" lobby.

The NCAA would not approve of the pants. Here in ND we just got through a decades old controversy about the UND Fighting Sioux nickname and logo. They are both gone. We had no mascot, unlike FSU and no tomahawk chop. The name and logo were treated respectfully, except by a few opponents, especially one to the south of us.

We like our animals and dead Generals.

I have no words for the rest of it.
