Get Ready

I wonder how big of a fine or possible suspension that Bill Belichick will receive after grabbing the official running off the field at the end of the game. If the NFL wants to send a message on leaving the replacements alone, this would be their chance.

It should be significant. Collinsworth and Al Michaels could not believe he did that.

I really wish the NFL would get this whole thing worked out. I know it's not the fault of the replacements, but these guys aren't anywhere close to being as good as the regular NFL officials. Holding and pass interference are a crapshoot in the first three weeks of the season.

It will be a fine, not a suspension. I think $50,000 is very likely.

Peace

Fine at most...be very surprised if there was a suspension

Bounce him

They have to suspend him. Coaches don't touch officials. Ever.

With Brady's diminishing skills (where has that phrase been heard before) he's not the football god he once was.

A coach putting his hands on an official, even these scabs, is intolerable and must be punished by suspension, money doesn't mean anything.

Honestly, I think he was trying to get the official to check with the replay booth. He should NEVER have touched him, but I don't think he did it in anger - I think he was trying to get them to not leave. It bothers me a bit that they didn't at least think of looking at it, although once they saw it go OVER the upright it becomes non-reviewable (according to the announcers ... who might be wrong).

IIRC, the only thing they can review in regards to a field goal/PAT is whether the ball went over the crossbar or not (thank you Phil Dawson). They cannot review it in relation to the uprights.
