The story really shows how screwed up some of the folks associated with that team are, especially the mom (who happens to be the wife of the defense attorney.) They say there was no contact when apparently all the judge had to do was look at the video and quickly rule there was contact.

Maybe someone familiar with the case can explain why he chose trial by judge? That is usually done by crooks who know they are guilty but hope to get off on some legal technicality. If there is any doubt about your guilt, you are usually better off going with a jury and hoping you can get at least 1 person to side with you.
